Acclaimed filmmaker Barry Avrich chronicles the career of Rosalie Abella, the former Supreme Court Justice of Canada who stood up for many marginalized communities during her long legal career. Abella speaks candidly as she reflects on her career and marriage to famed historian Irving Abella, who also appears in the film. Without Precedent also features interviews with friends, colleagues and admirers from diverse political and ideological backgrounds, such as Margaret Atwood, Brian Mulroney, Charles Bronfman, Paul Martin, Adam Gopnik and more.
