Watch in Cinema

Author Talks: Inspiring ideas and in-depth conversations with the world's leading writers and thinkers.

Back by popular demand, Tim Wu (The Age of Extraction) returns to Hot Docs Cinema for a further exploration of the failed promise of the internet and why it’s become so bleak. Joining Tim is fellow web activist and author Cory Doctorow, whose new book Enshittification: Why Everything Suddenly Got Worse & What to do About It assures us that yes, the internet sucks now. Canadians Tim and Cory have been friends since they were small children, and on this special night they’ll be back together on their home turf to not only smack talk the worldwide web of today, but ponder how we got to this place and what we can do to make it better.

This event will include a book signing. Books are available online (follow the prompts when purchasing your ticket) or in-person at the event.

Doors will open 45 minutes prior to the screening.
