Rich, textured animation gives life to the story of a woman who was once told she was a “black stain” and who grew up believing darkness was her destiny. Now an adult, she reflects on her relationship to past hardships and trauma, giving new meaning to the darkness and transforming her sense of self. Mariam Zaidi.
