In the dark nights of the Himalayan region, a scientist and her assistant pursue hawk moths for observation. Using a methodical approach, they spend their time trying to shed light on these nocturnal creatures. On one hand, they are there to collect data, taking photographs and logging their findings. But, on a grander scale, this isolated research work yields philosophical and existential contemplation. Trying to chart the history of the natural world is a seemingly impossible and ever-evolving task. These creatures have been around for millennia but with climate change on the rise, every living thing is impacted. The mountains offer the moths some refuge but how long will it last? Looking at these beings in the quiet starry nights, we, alongside the researchers, get a look at our interconnected natural world and see that we are all facing an uphill battle.
