Can a young cowboy build a fabulous and efficient gold-harvesting machine to deliver his aging father from the strenuous work of extracting the precious metal manually? After 40 years of digging in Tierra del Fuego in Chile, Toto’s 60-year-old body cannot take it anymore. His health is at risk, but he can’t afford to stop working because he doesn’t qualify for retirement support. The little income he gets from his artisanal gold-digging process is just enough to sustain himself. He fears he might die but at the same time loves life. His son, Jorge, helps him from time to time until it becomes evident Toto cannot continue to do this work this way. Then, Jorge has an idea. This charming story about aging and love of life is also a moving account of a father-son relationship, in which sometimes quiet facial expressions say more than many words.
