Ulisses was trapped as a baby orca in 1980. From wild-caught in Iceland to star attraction in Spain to harrowing transfer to San Diego's SeaWorld, he now circles a tank as the oldest male in captivity. Part touching reunion between whale and trainer and part call to end the cruelty of captivity, this silent, subdued story doesn't need words to make the animal–human bond and its hypocritical bondage loud and clear. Angie Driscoll
