Made In Chile: A spotlight on docs from Chile

October 18, 2019, marked an historical shift in the future of Chile, when a student uprising erupted over the Chilean government's increase in metro fares. As the movement escalated on the streets of Santiago, the Chilean government intensified its violent crackdown on protesting citizens. Over the course of one year, director Vee Bravo, former political exile, returns to his homeland and embeds himself within the protests, documenting the beginnings of a revolution. Bravo follows those who were on the frontlines of the struggle, including parents who risked their lives as they realized their most urgent role in parenting at that moment was to fight for a more just system for the future of their children. Explosive and candid, Primera captures Chile's nationwide movement to overthrow the ghosts of Pinochet's dictatorship and embark on the revolutionary path towards a new constitution. Heather Haynes
