Seventy-four-year-old Kaye spends her days within the same four walls of her parents' home, where she has been restricted by agoraphobia since she was a child. A freewheeling storyteller who loves to shock and provoke, Kaye often breaks out into show tunes and delights in showing off her family's collection of eccentric home videos. With her husband and parents now dead, she takes comfort in the photographs of family and film stars she pastes onto her walls, turning her home into a colourful collage of memories. There's also the younger neighbour, Lorenzo, whom Kaye spends her days pining for, giving her the opportunity to explore a new side of her sexuality. Reminiscent of Grey Gardens, the documentary is a sublime and charming portrait of a woman who boldly defies expectations of what it means to be reclusive. Vivian Belik
