Made In Chile: A spotlight on docs from Chile

Sergio, an ordinary octogenarian, is recruited to go undercover in a Chilean retirement home as a mole. Hired by a private investigator representing the concerned daughter of a resident, the amateur spy is embedded and tasked with clandestinely collecting evidence of suspected abuse and theft. The recent widower, used to living independently, sees the operation as an opportunity for adventure and embraces his role as 007, emphasis on the zeroes—zero experience operating surveillance equipment and zero ease using a cell phone. But compassion and charm are this secret agent’s weapons as he cracks the case wide open and exposes another crime entirely. Director Maite Alberdi sensitively combines observation and reconnaissance, recognizing how essential creating connections are, both in espionage and old age. The Mole Agent is a unique spy film that will infiltrate your heart and remind you to look, listen and learn throughout your life. Angie Driscoll
