Watch in Cinema

Jukedocs: Curated by Niko Stratis, this monthly series features music docs—from beloved classics to cult favourites—that expand beyond the boundaries of songs and their creators.

Marie Losier’s feature documentary takes an intimate look at artist and musician Peaches’ playful and intoxicating world both on and off stage. As the temperature never stops rising whenever Peaches performs, the film inhabits all the heated energy of a dissident of the pop-electronic age who inspires global audiences by breaking the boundaries of gender, form and identity. Theatrical spaces, new fantastical territories, mind bending sets—the Peaches arena is a place where she reignites life, and invites the world to be a little more of this, a little more of that. Peaches undermines gender roles, adopting a comic array of male attributes, and queers her own iconic image as female sex symbol. Peaches is widely recognized as being original, and one of those unique contemporary figures of the antichrist. Peaches is tough. Peaches is tender. Who is Peaches?
