Watch in Cinema

Back to the Bloor: Revel in the rich theatrical history of Toronto's beloved repertory cinema with fun series of throwbacks to when the building was known as the Bloor Cinema.

Have you had the Natasha Bedingfield song “Pocketful of Sunshine” stuck in your head for the past 15 years? You without a doubt have Easy A to blame! The LOL funny film that shot Emma Stone to stardom turns 15 this year and we’re celebrating with an anniversary screening at the cinema.

Part of the beloved teen film subgenre of movies vaguely inspired by literature, Easy A pulls from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, and follows Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone) as she narrates from her webcam the true story of how she lost (or rather didn’t lose) her virginity and the rumours that branded her as the school tramp.

Featuring Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson as perhaps the funniest and hottest movie parents, Amanda Bynes as a devout Christian mean girl, and an A+ cast of supporters that includes Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm McDowell, Thomas Haden Church, Fred Armisen and Penn Badgley, Easy A remains whipsmart and hilarious 15 years on.
