Is Batman Returns a Christmas movie? Of course! It's chock full of all the recognizable hallmarks of the holiday season including a majesterial Christmas tree lighting up Gotham Plaza; a misunderstood Scrooge-like villain; a warm and familiar takedown of corporate greed; the downbeat, somewhat lonely feeling of being one Batman against all evil that the holidays tend to bring on...It's all there!

In Tim Burton's ambitious and daring sequel to his 1989 hit Batman, the monstrous Penguin (Danny DeVito), who lives in the sewers beneath Gotham, joins up with wicked shock-headed businessman Max Shreck (Christopher Walken) to topple the Batman (Michael Keaton) once and for all. When Shreck's timid assistant, Selina Kyle (Michelle Pfeiffer), finds out and Shreck tries to kill her, she is transformed into the Catwoman and teams up with the Penguin and Shreck to destroy Batman, but sparks fly unexpectedly when she confronts the caped crusader.
