Watch in Cinema

With its colourful local settings, a soundtrack from Toronto indie legends like Metric and Broken Social Scene, and Brampton-born Michael Cera in the title role, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World may be the most Toronto movie ever made—and the ultimate record of the indie sleaze scene of the early 2000s.

As local garage band slacker Scott (Cera) fights the seven exes of the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, he encounters a rogues’ gallery of early aught’s beta men—vegan rockers, infamous skateboarders and a sneering record executive played by Jason Schwartzman—and visits beloved local haunts like Lee's Palace, Casa Loma and the Pizza Pizza right across the street from our theatre.

Director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) serves up a “true original” (Entertainment Weekly), powered up by wit, action and groundbreaking visuals. Game on!

Tickets to all Back to the Bloor series screenings are $7.50. Please bring a donation of cash or non-perishable food item to support Spadina-Fort York Community Care.
