A faded and impoverished Victorian neighbourhood, Torontos Parkdale is now a vital place of cultural intersection and change. Over a period of nine months, award-winning cinematographer Chris Romeike documented life in a six-block range of his Parkdale neighbourhood, focusing on three very different lives. Peter, a retired postal worker and longtime resident of Parkdale, is a bit of a curmudgeon who cares most about his record collection and his beloved neighbourhood. Jade is a teenaged former gang member now trying to get his life on track. Tsering is a single mother of three, who recently emigrated from a Tibetan refugee camp in Nepal and is struggling to maintain a job and a home. A generous and loving collective portrait of a place they all call home. David McIntosh
